In a city like Boston real estate is a difficult trade. Navigating its complex, but constricted space and its strong sense of community takes a well- trained eye and a native’s perspective. Tracy Campion broker/owner of Campion and Company knows this city like no other. Building her career from the ground up she has lived and breathed Boston real estate for over twenty-five years and has been ranked the #1 agent in the city for nearly a decade.

With her offices located on iconic Newbury Street, Tracy serves the high end of the market with some of the most sought after listings in the prestigious Boston neighborhoods. “I am so lucky to work in this city with beautiful properties in high end areas like Back Bay, Beacon Hill and downtown Boston,” she says proudly. “I absolutely love working here.” From luxurious modern condos and developments to turn of the century masterpieces and historic locations, these properties offer a wide array of choices and styles to fit the tastes of a diverse choices an clientele.  While the price points have certainly helped catapult her sales numbers to their astronomical levels, nearly three times that of her nearest competitor, it’s her incredible work ethic that keeps her at that level.

Tracy has worked hard to get where she is. “I was originally a Boston Public School teacher, but couldn’t find a position,” she explains. “I did whatever I could, trying to get by. I sold shoes at Filene’s Basement, then restaurant equipment on the road. I also sold cable TV, which was the job that got me interested in real estate. I was in and out of houses wiring for installation and talking to landlords.” The opportunity to work in these buildings sparked an interest in architecture and the history of these spaces. Combined with her innate sales ability, real estate was a great fit.

Success found her quickly in the industry. She was the Senior Vice President and Manager of R.M. Bradley and Company’s residential division for over twenty years. In 2007 she decided to strike out on her own and opened Campion & Company.

Located on fashionable Newbury Street, the brokerage is the culmination of years of dedication and hard work. “We have such a great team here,” she says. “Gabrielle Guagliano Baron and Christine Anderson are two amazing assistants and John O’Connor is a great marketing specialist.” These team members, as well as all of their agents, share Tracy’s same vision and ethics when it comes to sales and more importantly their clients.

On every level, Top Real Estate Agent in Massachusetts Tracy Campion conducts her business with a strong sense of responsibility toward her clients and she expects the same from her team. “I work hard and I’m very honest,” she explains. “I try to be a good person everyday. I could sell a $30,000 property or a $30 million property and it doesn’t matter; I treat all of my clients the same way,” she says. “I’m lucky to be able to sell in those brackets and be comfortable in all of them. It’s not all about the money. You get to meet so many interesting, well-educated people; it’s a lot of fun to come to work. In this business, you’re working with people through some of the biggest moments of their lives,  weddings, divorces, new babies,” she says. “I really do care what happens to them and I care about their lives.”

Her genuine concern for her clients is matched by a tenacious sales ability. “I’m not aggressive in a way that alienates other brokers or clients,” says Tracy. “I make sure everyone is comfortable with the transaction and when it’s time to close, I know when to come in and when to close that transaction. That’s a skill that not everyone has.” Her clients know she has their back and will fight for them. Her years in the business have given her a finesse unmatched by many other agents and brokers. She knows when to step in and when to pull back while maintaining a well-deserved reputation for fair play and integrity.

Reputation is everything in this city and word of mouth travels fast. “It’s a small area, so I often will see my clients out around town,” she says. “It’s easy to keep in touch with my client base.” While the face-to-face encounters are pivotal to maintaining a long-term client base, Tracy is also looking to build a stronger web presence for her brokerage. “Though these listings really speak for themselves, the Internet is such a powerful tool and it has given them tremendous exposure,” she says. “We are working hard to expand this exposure even further.” With a greater web presence she will be able to share these unique properties to a greater audience worldwide. Through all of her success, Tracy remains grounded and appreciates all that she has accomplished. “I was the recipient of a scholarship to Emmanuel College,” she says. “I don’t forget where I came from and I try to give back to those who gave to me.”

She is an active and well-respected member of the community. “My husband works for the City and my daughters grew up here,” she explains. “I feel so lucky to be where I am and working in this magnificent city.”

Tracy is a powerful mix of compassion and precision. She is approachable and unassuming while a tenacious negotiator at the closing table. No matter the circumstance, Tracy never loses focus on what’s important and never takes her success for granted and this drive is what will keep her at the top for years to come.
