Kathy McVeigh has been involved with some aspect of the real estate business her whole career. She got her start as a successful loan officer, before becoming one of the first licensed appraisers in the state of Illinois. After many years in that field, she decided to try her hand at selling real estate. “The minute I started, I knew that I had found my calling and I haven’t looked back since.”
Kathy has already become an award-winning and top-producing agent in the lucrative Greater Chicago area. Her business has increased to the point that she is already thinking of bringing on an assistant. Kathy specializes in the neighborhoods of Darien, Downers Grove, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Woodridge, Naperville, and all of the surrounding areas.
Kathy has earned an impressive rate of repeat and referral business and she credits her high level of customer service as being key to that achievement. “I treat all my clients with the same level of service and respect. I realize this is a huge undertaking for them regardless of the price. Each client has a story and I feel honored that I get to be a part of that story. I take what I do seriously. I care about my clients and they know that I have their best interests at heart. My favorite thing to hear is when they tell me how much they love their new home. It’s music to my ears, because I know I did a great job for them. At the end of the day, I want my clients to be happy.”
With her diverse background and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the business, Kathy tries to take an educational approach to sales. “I think my background really sets me apart. I understand the basic inner workings of a home and I share that knowledge with my clients. I also keep my clients educated on the process from the start. All of my buyers get an informational packet on what to expect, so they are never in the dark about all of the steps along the way. I do not want my clients to be surprised during the buying/selling process.”
Kathy takes a comprehensive approach to marketing her listings that uses both traditional and more modern techniques, to help ensure successful results. “I’m a big believer in utilizing all of the latest technologies, but still do things like print media and open houses. My company offers a lot of support, and I take advantage of everything I can. Every listing gets professional photos and I typically enlist my clients to help write about their home, telling their stories and what they love about living there. It’s a really nice personal touch that I think makes their listing stand out.”
Kathy is actively involved in her community and serves on her local golf board. When she isn’t working, she loves to relax at home with her family and friends and is an avid golfer.
Kathy would like to continue growing her business, and will hire help to make sure that the service level that she has built her reputation on always stays at the highest level. “I’ve never gotten less than a five star rating from my clients, and that’s something I’m really proud of. I work hard for my clients. Their needs are always first with me.”
